State of Emergency Declaration
Randolph County Chairman Darrell Frye has signed an SOE for TS Debby for unincorporated Randolph County.
For each Municipality that anticipates storm damage from TS Debby, please consider declaring a state of emergency. This will be required before state and federal recovery funds are made available to your municipality. To be official and considered in effect, the Signed SOE must be posted on your website as well. You may later need proof that it was posted as well, so take a screenshot of the post. A copy of your SOE must be sent to christie.mccorquodale@randolphcountync.gov<mailto:christie.mccorquodale@randolphcountync.gov> so that it can be documented through the State EOC. Once the SOE is rescinded, that documentation must also be forwarded to me.
We highly encourage municipalities to go ahead and declare especially for those with water/sewer systems if you anticipate storm impacts.
SOEs received as of 08/07/2024

Reminders:
· This link will allow fire departments to filter their jurisdictions.
· ETAs will not be available due to high call volume for all agencies involved.
· Each department should keep up with its times during storm mode. (Next week, email this information to christie.mccorquodale@randolphcountync.gov<mailto:christie.mccorquodale@randolphcountync.gov> and I will have them entered into CAD for documentation.)
Dams
DEQ emailed a list of dams throughout our county that are in danger of overflowing with the expected amount of rainfall. I have created a sartopo map of these locations.

Randolph County GIS also shows flood plains and will help locate what structures or residences might be impacted during river flooding.

If the EOC fully activates and Storm Mode is pushed to the EOC, Service Calls will be announced via EMTAC. Once dispatched please acknowledge the announcement. We do not need any radio traffic beyond that until you are complete. Keep up with your time. If you need an additional resource do not hesitate to request it via that channel. Keeping traffic to a minimum is a must so as not to tax the VIPER system.
At this time we will plan to staff the EOC as needed through Friday night. Based on the information we receive through our regular sources we will decide on EOC activation for Thursday and later in the week.
